2CBD FM radio by and for the community. The station was
established to contribute to the local communities of Glen
Innes & Deepwater and you are welcome to become involved
with the station. If you listen to 2CBD and feel you an
affinity with what the station represents then there are
many opportunities for you to become involved with the
station.
Membership of 2CBD is both rewarding and hard work.
You will be joining a likeminded group of people who have a
common interest in community radio. You will be involved in
all aspects of helping to maintain a community radio station
including sponsorships, fund raising or training to become
one of our volunteer announcers.
Volunteers:
The committee of 2CBD FM is drawn from our membership. Our
Annual General Meeting takes place in October each year. To
run for a committee position you are required to be a
financial member and to have been a financial member of 2CBD
for at least 12 months. Our current committee consists of
the following people:
PRESIDENT - Wayne Jones. VICE PRESIDENT (DEEPWATER) - Reg
Trethaway. VICE PRESIDENT (GLEN INNES) - Geoff Black
SECRETARY - Sue Montgomery. ASSISTANT SECRETARY - Cai
McLennan. TREASURER - David Donnelly
GENERAL COMMITTEE - Brian Austin, Reg Trethewey, Ben Higgins
and Marlene Weiss.
Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at
7.30pm. Alternately at the Glen Innes Services Club and at
2CBD's Deepwater studios at the Railway Station, Deepwater.
All members of the public are invited to attend.
Training:
2CBD training is currently being run under our Mentor
Training Scheme. A number of our Mentor-Presenters are more
than happy for trainees to sit in with them during their
program. They will explain the studio equipment, its
operation and your responsibilities as a 2CBD presenter.
Trainees may also get the opportunity to present part of the
program under the watchful eye of the Mentor.
